The roller coaster of Pelion (1895 – 1971) was a dynamic element of culture and development and strongly marked the history of the place. Evaresto De Chirico, father of the famous painter Giorgio de Chirico, using local craftsmen, designed and built among the slopes and olive groves of Mount Centauri, one of the most beautiful railway lines in the world, 60 cm wide, a work that will always be admired for its high aesthetics, its morphological harmony and its manufacturing perfection.

The legendary "Moutzouris" recently whistled again thanks to the races of his "Friends" and is again climbing Pelion at 25 km.. per hour.

Starting from Lechonia, struggling uphill through the lion trees and passing through the traditional settlements of Ano Gatzea, Agia Triada, Ag. Athanasios Pinakaton, Argyreika finishes in Milies. This wonderful route is also suitable for hiking. An uphill cobblestone path leads from the green area of the station to the village square. Like almost all the squares of the Pelion villages, it is located in the center of the village, in a position with greenery and a unique view and offers moments of relaxation in picturesque cafes. In Milies, it is worth visiting the library with unique centuries-old manuscripts, books and rare documents from the period of the Turkish occupation and the struggle of the Peliorians for independence. The village was the birthplace of the friendly and ardent patriot Anthimos Gazis as well as the pioneers of the modern Greek Enlightenment Constantas and Filippidis. A folklore museum also operates in the village.
